Who is it for?

The barista course is designed to introduce the world of coffee to aspiring baristas, cafe employees, coffee trading companies, and coffee enthusiasts, with no prior knowledge required.

What will you learn?

In the theoretical part, participants will become familiar with the factors affecting the taste and quality of the final cup of coffee, such as terroir, processing, storage, and roasting. We will then cover technologies related to coffee preparation and the theoretical aspects of espresso recipe setting.

The practical part will smoothly follow the theoretical knowledge. Participants will learn to work with professional equipment found in every café (espresso machine and grinder), understand their principles of operation and settings, maintenance tasks, and daily upkeep. The main focus will be on preparing espresso, where participants will experiment with changing variables in the recipe and then practice milk frothing techniques with the basics of latte art.

Who will train you?

Our main lecturer at the doubleshot coffee school, Nikola Divincová, will guide you through the entire course. Nikola has been in the world of specialty coffee for more than ten years. During that time, she has gained a wealth of experience not only behind the coffee machine, but also by visiting farms and participating in global coffee fairs. She is also well-versed in the world of competitions - whether as a competitor, judge or coach. Coffee and the community around it have always interested her as a whole, so you may also know her from panel discussions or as a moderator. In addition to leading our coffee school and fully utilizing her pedagogical roots, she also co-creates the doubleshot podcast with Ondřej.
