
Course content
You will learn how to identify aroma and taste and how do they appear in coffee. You will take a few blind tastings of the most basic flavours and several other flavours you can find in coffee. We will also use the aroma kit Le nez du café to smell all different aromas. The goal of this course is to understand perception of coffee flavours through our sense of smell and taste and to see how subjectively it can affect our evaluation. We will do all tasting following the SCA protocol and cupping score sheet.

Leave your parfume behind this time.
You will try to distinguish different aromas and tastes. Sometimes so very slightly different from each other. That is why we ask not to use any parfume or afteshave before you come to the course, please.

Who will train you?
Our main lecturer at the doubleshot coffee school, Nikola Divincová, will guide you through the entire course. Nikola has been in the world of specialty coffee for more than ten years. During that time, she has gained a wealth of experience not only behind the coffee machine, but also by visiting farms and participating in global coffee fairs. She is also well-versed in the world of competitions - whether as a competitor, judge or coach. Coffee and the community around it have always interested her as a whole, so you may also know her from panel discussions or as a moderator. In addition to leading our coffee school and fully utilizing her pedagogical roots, she also co-creates the doubleshot podcast with Ondřej.
