Description
The basic barista course aims to introduce the world of coffee to novice baristas, employees of cafes and coffee companies, and the general public with a deep interest in coffee, without the need for prior knowledge. This course differs from the barista course primarily in the fact that the final exam and subsequent certificate are required.
In the theoretical part, the course participant will learn about the factors influencing the taste and quality of the resulting cup of coffee, such as terroir, processing, storage, or roasting. We will then discuss technologies related to coffee preparation and the theoretical part of setting the espresso recipe.
The practical part will then seamlessly build on the theoretical knowledge. Participants will learn to work with professional equipment of each café (coffee machine and grinder), get acquainted with the principles of their operation and settings, service tasks and daily maintenance. The main content will be the preparation of espresso, where the participant will try out changes in individual variables in the recipe and then the technique of frothing milk with the basics of latte art.
The total duration of the course is approximately 7 hours including a 30-minute lunch break (which is included in the course price). The course is limited to 8 participants.
